HELPS DISSOLVE STONES: Innovative urinary tract cat food helps dissolve pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones

BLADDER HEALTH: RSS methodology for cat bladder health lowers the risk of crystal formation

S/O INDEX: The exclusive S/O Index creates an environment unfavorable to crystal formation in the bladder to support urinary health

HELPS PREVENT STONE REOCCURANCE: Specialized diet, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps prevent struvite stones from reoccurring

When your cat has urinary issues, easing their discomfort requires special care. But with the help of your veterinarian and Royal Canin, there’s not just hope—there can be a true difference.

This veterinary-exclusive loaf in sauce wet cat food was developed to nutritionally support your adult cat’s urinary tract and bladder health. It increases the amount of urine your cat produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. And this specialized nutrition, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some cats. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your cat on this urinary cat food for long-term urinary support. And ask them about the right Royal Canin dry cat food and treats to complement your cat’s diet.

Awful New Formula

I have 4 cats eating this food, as one of my babies has urinary issues and I can't prevent him from food sharing. When we saw the price went up quite a bit earlier this year we were upset already. Then we got the new formula shipped from Chewy, and ALL 4 of my cats had terrible loose stools for almost 2 weeks. They still aren't back to normal completely. I keep reading about other people's similar experiences. Royal Canin needs to do something about this!

Terrible formula change

My cat has been happily eating this for a year and it has successfully controlled his UTI issues, he's been a healthy and very active young adult. After just one can on the new formula, he has awful diarrhea and now refuses to eat it! I was stunned when i started reading others with the same experience. Now i have to partner with my vet as this is no longer an option. Very disappointed Royal Canin would do this. Pet owners rely on the prescription foods for the health and happiness of their pets. Vets says changing foods can have adverse effects on your pets health, i find it irresponsible to change the formula with no notification.

Formula Change Has Ruined This Food

My cat as happily obsessed with the old formula, but will not eat the new food. After a month of trying to get to him to eat it, he is now skin and bones from his refusal. He clearly didn't like it and it was making him sick. His activity level has significantly decreased. This is a food-motivated cat who used to eat anything, but now he's so picky he won't even eat dry food as much. I'm devastated.

My cats and patients are sick on this can food

My personal cats and patients are sick on this new canned formula. Please stop selling it! Nothing was wrong with the old canned. In fact every thing was right with the old fomula

Our cat refused to eat this

We have been using Royal Canin Urinary SO (both dry and canned) for some months, without problems. Suddenly, our cat has refused to eat any of the last batch that we've bought. What has changed?

New formula gave my cat diarrhea

I've been using the Urinary SO for my cat for years. Our last Chewy order contained a case of the SO with a different looking can. It said "loaf.". We were used to a pate. My cat had terrible diarrhea from the new can. I called Royal Canin and was told they changed to formula. It has more pork liver and slightly less moisture, this more protein. They suggested I get the Urinary SO aging 7+. The problem is that Chewy doesn't have this in it's inventory. There are few vets that sell it. I don't even know whether my cat will get sick from it. CHANGE THE FORMULA BACK!

New formula making cat sick, DO NOT GET

This new formula will harm your cat, I have two cats using the 'old' green version, and the new one quickly tried to kill one of them. One cat will begrudgingly eat a tiny amount only, and the other started getting sick and will throw up even after only a tiny bit. This is not a matter of cat sensitivity, but actual harmful food and I would say negligible formula. On top of that they raised their prices for it, so you are paying more to kill your cat. Already reading some reviews saying they are taking their cats to the vet. My cat is on the turn around after having to force feed a different urinary brand mixed with water, and if I had not been able to do that, my cat would be at the vet. No bones about it, my cat was dying because of this food. Wouldn't be surprised if they get sued. I don't know how this product got on the market or how a brand that supposedly uses science and research to make the best product could put out something that may (or perhaps has) kill someones pet. They should be ashamed and change their formula back ASAP. They have lost my business either way.

Cats Won't Eat And Now One Is Sick

We have three cats and one has the prescription for the SO food. They had been on the wet and dry food for two years and loved it. Within the first month of using the new formula dry food, my cat with the prescription had to go to the vet because he was very sick. We used up our old batch of wet food and tried to feed him the new formula of the wet food and he wouldn't eat it, nor would either of our other two cats, one of which eats everything. I came on-line to see if the food changed and found these reviews. Our vet has changed the prescription to a new brand, which all our cats love. Seems awfully coincidental that our cat had no issues for two years and then became sick within weeks of the new formula change.

Change it back

I’ve been feeding my cats this for three years and it’s made a world of a difference in their bowel movements, and coats. About a month ago, something changed. It’s dry and gross, smells different, and while both of my cats still eat it, they are having horrible diarrhea and throwing up. I’m throwing the last case I have out and switching brands. How disappointing.

New formula is pretty gross

I've been buying this canned cat food for my cats for the past 8 years. One of my boys had a blockage and this food helped keep him flowing. Recently though, the formula changed and the consistency is pretty nasty. The "Sauce" is actually just a layer of gross looking fat on the top of every can opened and my cat is not as happy with it. I was already adding some water to it before but now i have to add even more in order to make it an edible texture for my cat. And on top of it, the price has increased. When I first started buying them I believe they were about $42 for a case of 24. Now it is up for $56 per case and that is just ridiculous. Going to have to switch to something else.
