HELPS DISSOLVE STONES: Innovative urinary tract cat food helps dissolve pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones

BLADDER HEALTH: RSS methodology for cat bladder health lowers the risk of crystal formation

S/O INDEX: The exclusive S/O Index creates an environment unfavorable to crystal formation in the bladder to support urinary health

HELPS PREVENT STONE REOCCURANCE: Specialized diet, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps prevent struvite stones from reoccurring

When your cat has urinary issues, easing their discomfort requires special care. But with the help of your veterinarian and Royal Canin, there’s not just hope—there can be a true difference.

This veterinary-exclusive loaf in sauce wet cat food was developed to nutritionally support your adult cat’s urinary tract and bladder health. It increases the amount of urine your cat produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. And this specialized nutrition, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some cats. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your cat on this urinary cat food for long-term urinary support. And ask them about the right Royal Canin dry cat food and treats to complement your cat’s diet.

Killing my cat - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

So the formula change, as others have noted, is killing my cat. He's been on this product for 10 years, since we got him from the shelter. Blockages in the past when trying to switch. After being on this no issues. Three weeks ago new shipment of "brown" label comes, he won't eat. Have to mix tons of water, just to get him to eat anything. Both canned and dry food he ignores. On top of this, headed to the vet for urinary bleeding. I highly recommend anyone with cats with issues avoid this brand if you want your cat to survive.

My cat is sick!

Ever since the gelled canned food change, my cats puke and have diarrhea I hope you change it back to what it was. I will have to find another choice for them.

What happened?!

I have a 15yr old foster cat who only ate this food and now you reformulated it! Why? She threw up today. This loaf in “gel” is making her sick - she refused to eat any more after. I raced to the nearby vet who had only five cans left of the old formula. Please go back to the old formula!

Hate the New Formula

I have two male senior cats who have been eating this food for 5+ years. Recently the formula changed, and it’s made both of them throw up. Today I reached out to my vet for an alternative prescription. Very disappointed, and hoping they correct this and pay attention to all of these reviews.

Cat won't eat new formula

My cat has been eating this food a long time without issue. The new formula is terribly dry and gross in the can. Worst of all, my cat won't eat it. We will have to switch to another urinary food. Disappointed in Royal Canine for passing this off as the same product.

New formula is terrible

As others have noted, the formula recently changed, and it's all bad. One, the mix is noticeably drier, I have to add significant water to make it the same consistency it used to be. The odor and I assume taste is different, our cats definitely noticed the change and are less interested although thankfully will still eat it. Lastly, there is consistently a layer of separated fat on the top and/or sides of the can. I mix it into the food but a layer often clings to the sides or rim of the can, and is not easy to clean out. This is not something you want to rinse down your sink. So, I'm regrettably tossing the empty cans in the trash instead of recycling if I don't have time to clean them carefully. In all, this change has pushed us to consider other brands for our autoship.

bad idea to change the formula

My cat has been eating this food for six years with no problem. Since formula changed he has become sick. I am taking him to the vet this afternoon.

Problems with the new formula of Urinary SO

My cat was recently (October 2019) switched to Royal Canin Urinary SO to dissolve a bladder stone that formed despite being on a different brand of urinary prescription food and I was so thankful that the Royal Canin worked and saved her from surgery! However, my most recent shipment from Chewy contained a different can (it used to be a green package and now it's brown) and I noticed the formula has changed- my cat went from loving her new food to hating it. She barely eats it now and half the time when she does eat it, she throws it up. I'm a disappointed cat mom because this product saved my cat but not sure what to do now.

CAT STOPPED EATING

Why did you change the formula? My cat won't eat it. Based on the reviews it seems like you have a big problem on your hands.
