Helps dissolve and prevent pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones

Lowers the risk of crystal and stone formation using RSS methodology for bladder health

Highly palatable hydrolyzed proteins help to reduce skin and GI reactions that may be a result of food sensitivities to common proteins found in pet food

Supports healthy digestion and reinforces the skin barrier with nutrients to support and maintain healthy skin

Whether this is your dog’s first urinary issue or he has developed food sensitivities and needs ongoing urinary care, your vet recommended Royal Canin Urinary SO + Hydrolyzed Protein for a reason. This veterinary-exclusive dry dog food was developed to nutritionally support your adult dog’s urinary tract and bladder health. It’s designed with Relative SuperSaturation (RSS) methodology to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. It also features highly digestible hydrolyzed protein, which helps reduce the risk of stomach and skin signs in dogs with food sensitivities. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your dog on this urinary dog food with Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Treats for long-term urinary tract support.

Hard to find anyone that sells the smaller bag

Same problem as other reviews-no one really carries it. Our vet prescribed this because it’s one of the only brands that addresses urinary tract health while also being okay for my dog that’s allergic to chicken meat. Our dog currently eats RC’s Selected Protein because of her bad food allergies but she also is having bad recurring UTIs. The vet is hoping the change in her diet will help after she finishes this round of antibiotics. Petsmart only carries the larger-sized bag but we have a small dog. I don’t want to buy $109 worth of dog food if she won’t eat it or have it go stale before she can even get through the entire bag. My vet doesn’t offer any samples. Please start selling it directly or have more retailers carry it. Thank you.

not available

gee - a great food, our vet prescribes it an no one has it nor is it sold online. What a stupid product. Nor can our dog use the non hydrolyzed version because it contains corn which many dogs are allergic to. Wake up Royal Canin. Either you want to help people or you do not.

Great dog food but extremely hard to get. We have to drive an hour to our vet to get it because chewy doesn’t sell it and petsmart won’t ship it. Very frustrating but other than that great food.
Royal Canin response
We sincerely apologize for the frustration.

Hard to get and it shouldn’t be.

This is supposedly the only food my dog can eat. He does like it, and it has helped clear up his urinary crystals and his allergies. However, it is way too difficult to get a hold of. I get prescriptions and other vet products from chewy but they won’t carry this Royal Canaan doesn’t sell their stuff directly and of course this is very expensive food. It seems pretty unfair and I imagine there are a lot of people who could use it who just won’t.

Bonus-no more blotchy skin issues

My vet recommended I try this because my dog avoids drinking water, her urine output is minimal and could lead to issues. A very unexpected bonus was that her consistently itchy and blotchy skin completely cleared up, presumably due to the hydrolized protein.

Very hard to get, works well.

This is basically the only food my dog can eat to prevent urine crystals and severe allergic reactions, including yeast infections in her ears, BUT WE CANNOT FIND IT ANYMORE!! My pretty girl is suffering….

My dog only eats it because she has to

My standard poodle has been on this food type for years and it has gotten so expensive I’m not sure what I’m going to do if I can’t afford it any longer !

Worst decision ever

My 17 year old shih tzu on a regular basis uses Hidrolized Protein food. When I switched to the Hidrolized Protein with SO index (because regular Hidrolized protein was not available) she likes it but it brought up so many side effects. She’s super thirsty, constantly drinking water and peeing. She barely sleeps, walking around all day like disoriented, crying silently. I hace notice that she’s even more blind than was before because she is now bumping on everything in the house. It’s just horrible to see her acting so bizarre. Im changing her food for good today and going back to the Hidrolized Protein that she used to eat.

Portia Loves This Dog Food

Portia had a urinary problem we found by accident at a young age. The Vet recommended putting Portia on the Royal Canin Urinary SO dry dog food. She was around 2 years old. She is now 12 1/2 years old and never has had a urinary problem.

I was facing chronic bladder issues with my two dogs. Nothing seemed to work. My vet suggested I try Royal Canin Urinary SO dry dog food. I am happy to report this food has made all the difference. No crystals, no UTI!
