16 avr. 2025Great for cats with tummy troubles.
My girl has always struggled with tummy troubles. Up until last month she was on Hills I/D formula to help with both hairballs and gi upset.
Unfortunately the I/D formula was not high enough in fiber so when she developed severe constipation and had to undergo an enema at our vet's office our vet suggested the fiber response formula by Royal Canin.
A week after transitioning full over to this food she went from 60 hours between bowel movements to 35 hours.
She is feeling much better - eating more and not acting anxious over using the litter box.
My only reason for a 4 star review is the cost, as it is quite expensive.

I started this food about 3 months ago and helped with soft stools and now my cat is having soft stools again. No changes in anything. I was reading on some reviews that this has happened to some people. Change in formula?

I honestly believe this food saved my cat’s life. Before I tried this, my geriatric cat had stopped eating and had terrible problems with constipation. She immediately loved this food and has since been going to the bathroom so regularly that we’ve been able to stop her laxatives and cisapride. So grateful for this product.

My cat is nearly 13. I have spent so much money over the years on different cat foods. Soft, hard, water fountains, laxative oils, pumpkin etc etc. Numerous vet visits for constipation. Sometimes 3 in a month.
Finally something works. I moved, went to a new vet and he gave this food. I have had 2 episodes since starting the food 3 years ago, but considering how often I was going to the vet before, this is miraculous.

Saved my cats life!!!
My cat was deathly sick for three years, I had to bring him in for emergency surgeries, enemas every 3-4 days, cissapride, and laxatives because he could not go to the bathroom. After a three day stay in an emergency hospital in Boston the vets suggested I euthanize him. I brought him home and researched his symptoms. It appeared he had “megacolon” and this food could help him.
After recovering, he began to eat the food and went to the bathroom shortly after. He has been on it for three years and it has truly saved his life. Truly a miracle and I cannot recommend this food enough!!!

When the bag if food is fresh it works better, however I have to put Purina Fortiflora on it fit my cat to eat good. But by the time we are half way through it it gets stale my cat doesn't eat as well even with the fortiflora. A 4 lb bag would b much better the 8 lb bag lasts too long and goes stale!!!!
I also feel since covid something has changed in the formula which makes it less appealing for my cat.

We have used this product for over a year with good success. Recently, however the cat food looked different. Unfortunately our cat became severely constipated and had to spend two days at the vet because of this. We have to change brands now.

Did you recently change the formula? The color is darker and my cat refuses to eat it. I has helped with his constipation but now I don't know what to do. PLEASE go back to the original formula. I tried a different bag from a different store but he still won't eat it. WHAT HAPPENED?

RC changed this formulation and now, constipation/megacolon is back! I used this ridiculously overpriced food for nearly 8 years. This USED TO BE the only product that could reliably get my cat pooping on a regular basis. It was the one thing I would panic about running out of. NOT ANYMORE! Thanks to the Royal Canin money-grubbing overlords -- the formula changed, cheaper ingredients, different fiber, and it no longer works. Back to life-threatening constipation. Ridiculous. Even though your product was always grossly overpriced (read the ingredients people, it's corn and wood fiber) -- I bought it happily, because it worked. NO LONGER. Disgusted at the fact that you don't even warn customers that you are changing the formulation.

My 12 year old cat was having constipation issues. Our vet recommended this product and it worked overnight. He had a normal bowel movement and is feeling better. I definitely recommend this product.
