Something is Wrong

My dog has done great on this product, except within the last 2 months. He no longer wants to eat it and is disinterested in it. I was concerned from him but now believe there is a quality control issue going on, also hence why this product is being discontinued. It sucks for us dog parents who have special dogs with sensitive stomachs. I hope we can find an equivalent but dang, get it together!

Seriously?

Am I reading this correctly? Are you seriously discontinuing this product? This food has kept my Buffy alive for a lot of years now! She had several bouts of pancreatitis and we nearly lost her twice. Since her vet recommended this food, and we have fed it to her and her sibling for many years, she has not had another attack. For that reason and that reason alone I have been a loyal customer paying the exorbitant price just to maintain her health. Without this food I fear I will be forced to watch her health deteriorate and lose her all together because, let's face it none of us are getting any younger. She WILL NOT survive another round. Please, please, please reconsider. So disappointed. :(

Discontinued product?!?

Please reconsider. Many animals rely on this specialized food and your company as a reliable resource. Sad state of affairs if you can not continue providing specialized food for animals. We pay more because we need the product. Regular clients can choose from so many premium brands they WILL NOT pay your prices. If you have a sourcing issue, please disclose so you wont lose a hard-earned reputation. Once lost, it is even more difficult to recover.

Also a loyal customer for many years

Why are you discontinuing the canned gastrointestinal diet food? My dog depends on it! After quality control issues with Hills I moved to Royal Canin and have been very happy. Why????

Impossible to get

My dog has been on this food for 7 years and suddenly it’s nowhere to be found. No warning. It’s just vanished. From reading other comments it’s clear you no longer will be making this item. This is a major issue for dogs needing this type of food. To find a new food and switch our dogs over takes time. Very disappointed in this decision to stop making this item.

LOYAL CUSTOMER FOR 10 YEARS

My 12 year old Cockapoo has an auto-immune disease, a seizure disorder and gastro-intestinal (digestive) issues. After much trial and error, FINALLY, with Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Low Fat dog food, her vomiting, almost constant gurgling stomach and diarrhea all stopped! She has been a happy dog, kept alive on meds and YOUR dog food! How can you take that away from her now? Why would you discontinue this food that many dogs depend on? I know it's not your best seller, but PLEASE, JUST THIS ONCE don't look at the bottom line....Look with your hearts. Help us keep our older dogs alive!

Thanks for decided to stop production

I just want to thank you for deciding to stop making the prescription food that is keeping my dog alive! By doing so you are stressing the limited supply of the other manufacturers for the same condition. My only hope is they can meet the demand for you dropping the ball. I also hope they take your business as a result. You have lost my business forever if you have not collapsed the business for gastrointestinal low fat prescription food.

Concerned

My 14 year old Golden Retriever is allergic to animal protein. This food is the only food she can eat. Can the company please comment on whether or not the formula changed? The kibble looks different and she is experiencing diarrhea, gas and stomach upset which now appears to be consistent with other customers experiences. I don’t have another option for feeding her. She’s been on this food for over 9 years with ZERO issues.

Great Dog Feed!

My GSD has been on this feed for approx 1 month, and he has had PLE + IBD since Dec 2019. October 2020, he was put on A drug called Mycophenolate; and when the dose was increased Nov 20,2020 this drug did not agree with him. He stopped eating some meals, lost some weight, vomiting & diarrhea. I took him to the vet, and they took him off of this drug. He started eating again, and I made the switch too Royal Canin GI Low Fat! Today, at his protein bloodwork appt; his numbers were great, and he is at an ideal weight finally ! Last year, I fed another brand name dog feed, and I could not keep weight on him ! Needless to say my Veterinary Care Team will not put him back on that brand name dog feed again! Yes, I highly recommend this product!

Horrible food, caused diarrhea

Was prescribed this food by my vet as part of a treatment for chronic pancreatitis in my dog. Within 2-3 days he developed diarrhea (there was none before) and refused to continue eating the food. Looking at the other recent reviews of this food, it seems to be the consensus that something is truly wrong with this formula. Still dealing with the stomach issues this has caused and it's been 5 days. Just awful. Do not feed this to your dogs.
