This predisposes them to joint diseases, such as intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Royal Canin for Adult Dachshund comes in a loaf texture with gravy. The ingredients included are for joint and bone support and muscle mass. The daily feeding recommendations are specific and easy to read. I personally gave my dog 1 pouch a day with 1 3/8 cup of dry dog food for an 18 pound Dachshund. He really enjoyed the food as always and maintained weight which is around 18-20 pounds. I received this product for free for my honest and unbiased opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our dachshund has gotten very picky about what he would eat. I use a little bit of this Royal Canin-Dachshund Pouch Dog Food mixed with the dry and he scarfs it right up. It is a bit pricey for us for all the time, but it is really good.

I love that it is specifically made for the dachshund breed and has their health as their chief concern. For example, this dog food is loaded with ingredients that help keep dachshund’s bones and joints healthy, as they have such short limbs. I also love that it is high in protein. In addition to it being healthy for my dachshund, it must taste good, because my dog eats it right up. I’m very impressed with the Royal Canin dog food so far.

He really enjoyed the taste. I will say the only drawback is it doesn;t look very appetizing but my dog enoyed it and it keeps him healthy. I will recommend it to others

I give it to them a couple times a week instead of their dry food and they scarf it down as fast as they can and go to each other‘s bowls to see if there’s any left anywhere. They scoot the bowls all around the kitchen in their quest to find a morsel that might be left.
From my standpoint, the small pouches are convenient so I don’t have to worry about storing excess in the refrigerator in dealing with and gelatinous leftover like cans sometimes do. Also don’t have to dirty a spoon or scoop. The food slides out of the package easily without leaving excess in the bag for you to have to dig out so you don’t have to dirty your hands, either.
As far as digestion, the dogs have had no problems. Their stools are still formed, compact and easy to pick up.
As far as quality and popularity, it is a win. It’s just a bit expensive to consider for everyday use for us.

After having a bunch of teeth removed, this food was easier to chew and she definitely preferred it to the dry food. I love that it is made with lots of healthy and tasty ingredients.
