Used to be good, now makes my cat sick

My cat was doing really well on this the first 8 months she was on it and we went through 3 bags. After it was back ordered everywhere, the formula changed which is clearly evidenced by the kibble now being darker with black specks and less oily. My cat will hardly touch it now and this is the only food that meets her IBD and CKD needs. When she does eat it she vomits after. We thought maybe we needed to give her stomach time to transition but she continues vomiting and is now very constipated. Why on earth was this product changed without notice? Because it was back ordered for so long, I stocked up on four bags when it came back in stock, now I'm stuck with four bags that make my cat sick with no alternative option.

Cat won't eat new formula.

After being unavailable for months, and fearing for my cats life, you change the formula?! My cat barely eats any at all. There is NO alternative food for my cat. I keep 2-3 bags extra for the next time it goes out of production. Now she won't eat it. PLEASE CHANGE BACK TO ORIGINAL FORMULA!

Why change a good thing?

(It was 5 stars before the recent change). I agree with Carissa. Practically the same situation, but our cat is 16 and a half. I've even tried mixing a small amount with the HP (IBD) dry food and she picks thru it just to eat the HP bits. I even deprived her of food for around twelve hours and then tried to hand-feed her a few kibbles of which she just gummed and spat out (which is VERY unusual for her). It was a worthless purchase after waiting for too long for it to be available again.

Great Product, But Why Did You Change the Formula?

Putting 5 stars, because that's what it was when we first started using it This product absolutely saved my 17 year old cat's life about a year ago. She has to have a novel protein or hydrolized protein due to IBD and was diagnosed with stage 1 kidney disease. That being said, in the last month or so you changed the formula and my cat doesn't like it. This is literally the only food she can it. Nothing else like it exists. Why did you change the formula? Can you please change it back?

Vital food, but often unavailable

This food is a lifesaver, if you can find it. My cat does excellent when on this food; however, this is the second time it's been unavailable this year. It is extremely frustrating to have this go in and out of stock.
Royal Canin response
We are glad that your cat is doing well on our formula and we are very sorry for the availability issues.

Wonderful food (when there's not a shortage)

My cat had chronic vomiting until we switched her to LID rabbit, then she was diagnosed with acute on chronic kidney disease this March. Royal canin renal support + hydrolyzed protein is literally one of its kind and is now the only food she can eat. We first ordered two bags, despite reading there had been shortages during the pandemic, because it was always in stock when I looked. Now that I'm running out of the second bag, it is impossible to find other than third party distributors charging $200-300 a bag. The in stock dates keep getting pushed back by 2 weeks repeatedly. Please sort out the manufacturing issues and get this important food back on shelves in the quantities needed. This food is medication and should not be allowed to go out of stock. It would also be very helpful if a prescription could be submitted directly through this site because many vet clinics do not carry physical stock of this and some do not order for their patients. My vet will only provide paper prescriptions but will not do phone or online verifications.

Unreliable. When will it be back in stock.

Have gone through two bags of this food as recommended by a veterinarian for an elderly cat with specific dietary needs and kidney disease. Now the food is out of stock everywhere or on back order on websites that will not even honor prescriptions in my state. When will this be back in stock?!
Royal Canin response
I am sorry to learn that you are having difficulty acquiring this product. Our teams are hard at work to have product available as soon as possible, but unfortunately we do not have an estimated restock date to provide at this time.
