HELPS DISSOLVE STONES: Innovative urinary tract dog food helps dissolve pure struvite stones and helps prevent calcium oxalate stones

BLADDER HEALTH: Lowers the risk of crystal formation using RSS methodology for dog bladder health

S/O INDEX: The exclusive S/O Index creates an environment unfavorable to crystal formation in the bladder to support urinary health

HELPS PREVENT STONE REOCCURANCE: Specialized diet, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps prevent struvite stones from reoccurring

When your dog has urinary issues, easing their discomfort requires special care. But with the help of your veterinarian and Royal Canin, there’s not just hope—there can be a true difference.

This veterinary-exclusive dry dog food was developed to nutritionally support your adult dog’s urinary tract and bladder health. It increases the amount of urine your dog produces to help dilute excess minerals that can cause crystals and stones. Relative Super Saturation (RSS) methodology is used to help lower ion concentration in urine, which contributes to stone formation. This formula promotes a urinary environment unfavorable to the formation of both struvite and calcium oxalate crystals. And this specialized nutrition, with a reduced level of magnesium, helps dissolve pure struvite stones and prevent struvite stones from forming. Lower urinary tract issues may be a recurring concern for some dogs. Talk to your veterinarian about keeping your dog on this urinary dog food for long-term urinary support. And ask them about the right Royal Canin wet dog food and treats to complement your dog’s diet.

With nearly 50 years of scientific research and observation, Royal Canin continues to deliver targeted nutrition to feed every pet’s magnificence. Not satisfied? Then neither are we. Our veterinary exclusive formulas are 100% satisfaction guaranteed. (Just contact us for more details.)

Good urinary formula, but it now has chicken

My dog has been on this food for almost 2 years. It seemed to keep her stones from coming back. I was happy the formula we were buying for her was made with pork. The past year or so, this dog has become very itchy and has been having lots of problems with chronic, yeasty ears, inner thighs and paws. She is constantly licking and scratching to the point it's driving us all insane. Unbeknownst to us, Royal Canin switched from pork to chicken. We had been doing experiments removing anything with chicken from the dog's diet. We added a yeast-cleanse supplement line, we bought wipes, foams, ointments and special shampoo. None of this has worked and now we know why - her main meal consists of chicken kibble. Needless to say, we will be switching to another brand.

Life saving but expensive

This product saved my dogs life. He had bladder crystals and required an emergency life saving surgery. He’s been prescribed this food ever since and literally has had perfect stool and urine for 6+ years. I swear not one time has he had even had diareah in 6+ years since taking this food. Can’t thank them enough. However it’s super expensive, I wish they were able to make it more affordable because he has to eat this for the rest of his life.

BE PREPARED FOR PEEING LIKE CRAZY

Veterinary prescribed for urinary crystals. Dog ate it, but the poor guy peed EVERYWHERE. On our bed, all over his bed. Has to go out constantly. Didn't have this issue before. This dog foods diuretic effects are simply intolerable. Unless you're home 24/7 and can let your doggie out all the time, be prepared for a stressed out dog and a lot of cleaning up. Not a good quality of life balance. Extra star for palatability.

GI Upset

I just bought this food a few days ago because the vet found crystals in her urine, but it is DESTROYING my dog’s stomach. She is vomiting and having bloody diarrhea. I don’t know what to do, I’m going to have to take her off of it because her poor stomach cannot handle this food. Her breed is sensitive to diet change, but I’ve never seen it this bad.

Life saving formula

Our vet prescribed the product for our elderly cocker spaniel. Our dog, Aris, was dealing with recurring UTIs because of struvite stones. This formula changed our dog’s life and I will be forever grateful.

It worked, but smells awful!

This food worked to reduce the cystals. Even though my dog ate it, it smelled awful and her poops were orange and mushy. Wondering what the PH level is for this food?

It worked, however, the dog hates it.

Bought for a Skye Terrier. She normally eats Acana. She had a bladder infection and some struvite stones. After a month, the stones are dissolved, infection cleared up. However, she hates this food. Beyond hates this food. There were days she would starve herself and vomit Bile because she did not want to eat it. Now the vet wants her to stay on this food. I can’t sonit. She needs 2 cups a day and barely eats one cup a day. I’ve tried the sauce, the loaf, it worked for two feedings then she stopped eating it. I cannot feed her this forever. We are starting to mix with the Acana, but I believe it’s only a waste because mixing it defeats the purpose. Not sure if it was the food that dissolved the stones, or her starving herself and drinking a lot of water that dissolved the stones.

Great for kidneys, but won't eat it

Ducky (-haired chihuahua) is not a big eater... he thinks eating is an inconvenience. He has always eaten (or ignored) Royal Canin. As long as I can lock him in the kitchen till he eats, he has done great. When he went on Royal Canin SO, no more kidney issues. However, he has now decided not to eat it at all. After 3 days, I have caved, gone to the pet store and bought the most nutritionally lacking food I could find. He ate 2 T morning and night. For him, that is a LOT. I am at my wit's end. I have to do something better for him. It can't help him if he does not eat it. Sigh.

Must be delicious…

My dog was prescribed this food because of bladder stones. My vet recommended she stay on this food even after her surgery. We’ve had Laci for 14 years and I’ve never seen her so excited to eat. She actually cries in the morning till I get up and feed her. She demolishes it. She has so much energy.
Royal Canin response
We are delighted to hear how much Laci is enjoying it and that she's thriving!
