I used Royal Canin years ago for my mini schnauzers. At the recommendation of my breeder, I bought a bag of this food. When I got home I read the ingredients and was shocked that they had changed the ingredients and now use by-products and corn. Dogs do not digest corn any better than we humans do. I canceled my auto-ship and am changing brands to a dog food that uses deboned meat and better grains.

I’ve been buying this for two years now. I have a 7lb small breed Maltese. His name is Bentley. He loves the taste and because the pieces are extremely small, he is able to easily eat them. His mouth is very small and this size and shape of food is exactly what he needs.

I decided to try this on my two tiny Yorkies weighing 2 lbs. I worry about them choking on kibble that is too large for them. Plus, I need to put some weight on them. So far, I am very impressed with the size of the kibble and their liking the taste.

I have a 4 month Maltese puppy, we tried a lot of different food for him but somehow he loves royal canine . We try other bulk brains but those made him choke.. I'm sad that people don't think about small puppy but, royal canine is the best! Highly recommended

I tried this for the first time and I am glad I did because it is perfect for the tiny dog with the tiny mouth. Smaller more petite dogs cannot eat the larger food nuggets, so this is great!

This food saved my dogs life. When I rescued my 12 year old chihuahua, she had no teeth, was 2.5 lbs, and wouldn't eat any foods. We tried canned foods which she doesn't like, and we couldn't find any dry dog food she liked. We finally tried this Royal Canin x-small puppy dry dog food, and a miracle happened; she loved it! She was able to swallow the small pieces easily, and she started gaining weight and perking up. Her coat became so shiny and she finally looked healthy. Now a year later she is still eating this food and doing better than ever!
