I’ve had my chi’s on Royal Canin from day 1 and love that it has a pleasant aroma, the dogs love it, and it keeps their BMs small and solid. Awfully high price point but haven’t heard of a better brand for my fur babies.

I adopted Cabo San Lucus 10 years ago and we have been through so very much together. After four moves (one interstate), four lost loved ones, three surgeries (mine), and endless cuddle hours on the couch, he has been the single constant in my life and my best buddy throughout all of it. Our new life here has seen the addition of two more fur kids, Clyde and Beasley and Cabo adjusted okay, but he started hiding in his kennel more, eating less and seemed generally in poor spirits. He even stopped sunbathing which is one of his favorites. So, off to the vet we went to recheck his murmur and his collapsing trachea. Long story short, his murmur had worsened but the big news is he didn’t have a collapsing trachea, he had an enlarged heart!
After 2 months on medication, he was doing better but not as much of an improvement as I had hoped. So, I searched around and found Royal Canin made a Elder Chi specific diet and it has made ALL the difference! Six months of this food and consistently getting his meds has turned my hiding elder man into a puppy chasing machine! His playtime doesn’t extend to the lengths as it did in his younger years, but he still has all the intensity! He is sunbathing and playing with his brothers like a young man again and his fur is so much softer.
Cabo is still an older gentleman but his spirit and zest for life is back, albeit on a slower road now. He enjoys life again and is not afraid to hold his own in the house. There is no doubt in my mind that good medical care and the amazing nutrition he gets from Royal Canin have given us many more years together. He’s a tough little cookie, my tough little best friend, and I can’t imagine life without my snuggle bug!

A cousin rescued CoCo in New Mexico. CoCo is a +8 Chihuahua mix according the vet. She has a very bad right rear leg, bad teeth and is very submissive. She is also very finicky about food. The Royal Canin Adult Chihuahua is one of the few dry foods she will eat. We tried ALOT before we found Royal Canin. Thanks.
