Great product !!

My cat was really not doing well and was diagnosed with kidney problems - started him on fluids and Royal Canin renal support early consult and saw such a remarkable difference in just 2 days. Here’s hoping it will last as he is 16 years old.

Low quality ingredients, made my cat sick

My vet recommended switching to this food since my 5 year old cat has been diagnosed with early stage kidney disease. When making the switch I noticed my cat started having softer stools sometimes but I didn’t think much of it. Once I had fully transitioned her to this food, within the first 3 days her stools got even softer and then I noticed fresh blood in her stools. I immediately stopped feeding her this brand of food and put her back on her old food. I looked at the ingredients of this food and was pretty appalled that it’s made with both pork and chicken byproducts. With prescription diets being more costly, the least they could do is put good quality ingredients in the food. I recommend switching to hills science diet early stage kidney food. It doesn’t contain any animal byproducts.

Not so sure

Even though this food “may” be low in phosphorus, it has several ingredients that I don’t feel good for your cat.. if you do your research, you will find that the very first ingredient SHOULD be a source of protein… the first three would be ideal.. in a sense you are trading quality sourced proteins for low phosphorus. They say a cat with kidney failure should have high quality protein. The second ingredient is a “by-product.” Kinda makes me question all of it. I give it two stars because my cat scarfed it down, but, she also scarfed down a handful of other canned foods i gave her. A few non-prescription foods that seem to have better quality protein. I assume she just likes the pates as all of the ones I tried are very similar in texture and smell. I read the ingredient list on Royal Canin‘s non-prescription foods that can buy in the pet store hoping to find one that is low in phosphorus that i didn't need a prescription for. I found more questionable ingredients for a brand that touts itself as high quality pet food. In the near future pet food labels will have to provide the phosphorus levels in the ingredient list.

Cat loved this

My kitty loved this food but I can’t get it anymore. This actually helped him to gain weight .

My cat likes this!

I can't find it any more. But if I do, I'm getting it. Getting a cat to eat any food designed to go easier on the kidneys is practically impossible.

An early support food!

I was so worried about my 15-16 yr old boy when he was diagnosed with pre-renal failure. I was searching high and low, I use this along side the HP/Renal Support dry diet and he loves it. I'm so happy there is a product for the early stages of this, and it doesn't upset his tummy!

My cat is enjoying it

But he is adopted and loves treats. Why aren't you making treats anymore? You are changing some of the containers, some of the packages, some of the formulas but not making treats for Cats or Dogs. Stop with the changes and make their treats again! PLEASE!!!

My cat loves it!

My cat is a picky eater, but he is in love with RC food. High quality and always a bonus when your cat loves it. My only compliant is that it's always on back-order.
